Last
month I cast doubt on the idea that MLB 2K13 would be noticeably
different from MLB 2K12. This trailer from 2K Sports, released Thursday,
shows me that I am wrong. MLB 2K13 will have the Houston Astros
realigned to the American League, and they'll be wearing their new
uniforms. So if you are a fan of the Houston Astros, whose 107 losses
last year were the most of any major league team since the Houston
Astros lost 106 games the year before, then this is your video game.
After that, go fish. I don't see much in this video that suggests the
game will be that different from last year, and for sure the announced
feature set and lack of marketing communicate the same thing. I still
see the same animations, same flat/no-contrast lighting in shadows, same
everything. All of this is replay camera, too, so keep that in mind.
